Mossy Green Eyes Makeup Tutorial

Lets play with color!

If you haven’t already guessed, I love color in my makeup. I’ve always been that way. When I was first introduced to makeup, I wanted to wear blue mascara instead of black and nude lipstick made no sense to me. I wondered why anyone would want to wear a lipstick the same color as their lips. I know for many others, wearing a lot of color can be intimidating f0r multiple reasons.

For one, neutral tones are always much easier to deal with. Its simple and it doesn’t give off the vibe that you’re trying to do too much. I’ll admit, I’ve been guilty of not wearing a certain makeup look because I don’t want it to seem like I’m trying to draw attention to myself. At the same time, I say, screw that and do what you want. I totally understand that it can be hard to break out of that comfortable bubble. If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I wish I could pull that off/do that.” You can! It might look horrible at first but just keep practicing. With all that being said, I hope you find this tutorial helpful and that you try it out!

*Also, I’m sorry if I’m a little more low energy than normal. I started my first week back at school and it was a huge adjustment.

In case you need to see the shadows more up close…

Dose of Colors Supreme Glow Highlighter

I was really excited when I heard Dose of Colors was coming out with their Supreme Glow Highlighter. Not only do I always jump at buying highlighters, Dose always wows me with their products. In fact, they take the cake on being my absolute favorite when it comes to having the best liquid lipstick formula. They’re so long-lasting, transfer proof and comfortable.

What it is: Golden (bronze, to me) powder highlight
Price: $28.00
Shade name: Gold is the New Black

I love the packaging- its simple, feels sturdy, its compact & comes with .25oz of product.

When I first opened it up, the color in the pan appeared super dark, almost like a bronzer. It really caught me off guard because the swatches on the site are much lighter. To my surprise, I found it complimented my skin tone really well because of my yellow undertones. However, depending on how much fairer your skin is, and what type of undertones you have, this may not work. It definitely appears to be geared toward deeper skin tones, which by the way, is really amazing since shade ranges with makeup in general tend to be the opposite.

I love how pigmented this is. There’s definitely no need to build it up if you’re going for a little-more-than-natural glow, which is really important to me. When I put on a highlight, I don’t want it to be packed on so much that its distracting. At the same time, I hate when I feel like I’m dipping back into the pan several times to get to the level I want. I find the formula to be very lightweight and creamy.  Its also worth noting that this is cruelty, gluten and talc free.

All in all, I’m really happy with this and I’m hoping to see more colors released to add to the collection!
