I filmed my first makeup tutorial!
Yay! I’m really excited and proud of myself for finally doing something I’ve been wanting to do for months. For those of you who don’t know me, I can be pretty shy and I don’t like the spotlight. I’m sure this raises the question about why I’m doing this. Honestly, I love seeing people’s faces light up when I tell them their makeup looks good. Women are always being judged over how they look in a negative way. If you don’t dress up, you’re ugly or plain. If you dress up too much, you’re trying to do it for someone else. We can’t just be ourselves and feel beautiful. That’s why building each other up is so important. If someone wants to improve their technique, step out of their comfort zone, or they’re in a makeup rut and need inspiration, I want to be apart of that. How we choose to express ourselves shouldn’t be based on anyone else’s approval except your own. Yes, its important to feel beautiful without makeup, but its also okay to feel good with it.
More about the look:
When I look at this, I think about eating a Mangonada, partly because I’m always thinking about food, but also for all the shades I used. If you’ve never had a Mangonada, you seriously need to find one, fast! (Its a Mexican fruit drink/dessert & they’re amazing.)
If you’re craving one now from the thought of it, good, me too.
The key to achieving this look is to take your time blending. Start with a fluffier blending brush and then continue building it up with a smaller blending brush as you go in with darker shades. I know it looks like it hardly took me any time to blend, but thats just editing. I doubt you wanna watch two whole minutes of me going back and forth with a brush on my eyelid. Not so exciting. Its also really helpful to pack on a little at time because the more layers, the more you have to blend & the easier it is for everything to look seamless.
Here are some swatches of the shades I used in case you need a closer look.
Tarte Shape tape concealer in “light neutral”
Nyx Matte Bronzer in “Light”
Milani Blush in “Luminoso”
